The All of Us Research Program is a longitudinal cohort initiative aimed at advancing precision medicine and improving human health by enrolling at least 1 million diverse individuals across the United States.1 The program was created following the announcement of the Precision Medicine Initiative in 2015, began national enrollment in 2018, and is funded through fiscal year 2026 with approximately $1.5 billion appropriated in the 21st Century Cures Act.2

The program has prioritized recruitment of participants from populations that have been historically underrepresented in biomedical research, and it places high value on meaningful and prolonged engagement of participant ambassadors in all phases of program planning, governance, and execution.
