Significant changes to public health, the healthcare system and economy in 2025 won’t end as we flip the calendar. Disruption will continue in 2026, particularly with respect to the public health infrastructure as well as prescription drug pricing. Though disruptive can have a negative connotation, it also can mean going against the grain and not pursuing business as usual. The second Trump administration is clearly a disruptor in this sense.

It’s time to offer up some predictions for 2026. But before I get to that, a few words on prognosticating.
