AMSTERDAM — Five years after the COVID-19 pandemic began, millions of people worldwide continue to live with its long-term consequences. For clinicians, managing long COVID remains one of the “most challenging clinics,” said Rachael A. Evans, PhD, clinical associate professor at the University of Leicester, Leicester, England, at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) 2025 International Congress. Long-term consequences of COVID continue to have a significant impact on patients who find it difficult to identify themselves, she said. “People lose their own identity. They say ‘I’m not the same person, I don’t feel like me anymore.’”
