The nation’s largest payers have filed their fourth-quarter earnings reports, revealing which recorded the largest profits in 2024.
1. UnitedHealth Group: $14.4 billion
Total net earnings in 2024 were $14.4 billion, down 35.6% year over year. UnitedHealthcare’s total earnings from operations in 2024 were $15.6 billion, down 4.9% year over year.
2. Elevance Health: $6 billion
Total net income in 2024 was nearly $6 billion, almost unchanged from the year prior. The insurance division reported a total operating gain of $6.2 billion in 2024.
