To increase COVID-19 vaccine enthusiasm, physicians must use patient engagement strategies that address concerns and provide the facts on the shots.

A new communication guide from the de Beaumont Foundation and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) highlights patient-provider communication and patient engagement strategies that physicians can use to build COVID-19 vaccine enthusiasm and confidence .

As COVID-19 vaccines have become more accessible, vaccine enthusiasm has plateaued. The communication guide aims to help physicians increase vaccine adherence through effective patient-provider communication practices.

The guide, “From Concern to Confidence: How Physicians Can Build Trust in COVID-19 Vaccines,” is based on recent polling and focus group data as well as CDC, AMA, and American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations.
