Heart disease deaths related to obesity increased by 180% in the U.S. between 1999 and 2020, especially among middle-aged men, Black adults, residents of Midwestern states and non-metropolitan areas, according to a preliminary study to be presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2024.
