Many think of Nvidia as a closed ecosystem. But as AI transitions from fast chips to address a full-system challenge, Nvidia is helping drive an open industry.

Yes, CUDA is closed. Nvidia says it has to be closed in order to develolp an optimized software abstraction for new hardware. But systems and networking are becoming the new bottlenecks, and Nvidia is contributing its tech to the Open Compute Program to help the community solve the next set of bottlenecks that are driving cost and energy inefficiencies.
