NIST released the final version of its Big Data Interoperability Framework, designed to assist all sectors in ways to deploy software tools that analyze data and employ secure data sharing without retooling the computer environment.

Developed in collaboration with more than 800 leaders from the security, academia, and government sectors, the nine-volume guidance is targeted to developers in an effort to provide broad specifications for creating more widely useful technical tools handling large amounts of data.

The guide provides insight on a number of computing platforms, from a single laptop to a cloud-based environment. Researchers explained that the framework can also demonstrate methods for data sharing across various platforms and alternative advanced algorithms.
