The National Institutes of Health distributed a total of $20 million to five proof-of-concept biomedical innovation centers, expanding its Research Evaluation and Commercialization Hubs program.

The REACH program aims to accelerate the development of academic institutions’ biomedical discoveries into devices, therapeutics and other tools to improve patient care and outcomes. To achieve this goal, the NIH matches member centers with federal and private sector partners who can offer resources and product development guidance.
