Ready for some good news about global health and the fight against infectious diseases in a year that’s been filled with not so good news on such fronts? Well, on Monday, a collective of donors around the world announced a new $1.9 billion pledge to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. That came during the “Investing in Humanity: Uniting to End Polio” event jointly hosted by the Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation and the GPEI in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
