A new pharmacy college in Kearney, Neb., is preparing for its first cohort of students this fall.

Ten prospective students have committed to the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy, which will begin classes in August, according to a Feb. 19 news release.

The UNMC, which is part of Omaha-based Nebraska Medicine, works with 37 preceptors across 27 clinical sites. The pharmacy students will receive in-person and synchronous, remote learning at the Omaha and Kearney campuses.

The first UNMC pharmacy class could expand to 16 students, the release said. The program recently hired three new faculty members:
