As I settle into my role at Commons Clinic, I’m mapping out my “First 90” — the initiatives I’ll tackle during my first three months. It’s tempting to dive into everything at once, but I’ve found it’s better to pick a few core themes and go deep. One of those themes is how we think about value in healthcare.
Over the past week, in conversations with our CEO Nick Aubin, a consistent thread emerged: the need to return to first principles. Whether we’re talking about overcoming distrust between stakeholders or expanding our model beyond musculoskeletal care, it all comes back to one central question — are we delivering true value?
