An estimated one in four Americans suffers from a diagnosable mental health disorder every year. Though we’ve come a long way in destigmatizing behavioral healthcare, patients face many barriers to getting the treatment they need.
The unfortunate truth is that often, behavioral health providers are not equipped with the digital tools they need to support their patients. Excluded from incentives that accompanied the HITECH act of 2009, such as Meaningful Use EHRs, these organizations commonly lack funding for the advanced interoperability framework that is becoming foundational to our country’s care continuum.
