Fewer Medicare Advantage plans will offer nonmedical supplemental benefits like home modifications, adult day health services and therapeutic massage in 2024, according to an analysis from ATI Advisory published Oct. 30.

Structural home modifications saw a 68% decrease from 2023, the largest of all the benefits ATI compared. Though several benefits are declining for 2024, benefits like food and produce and general support for living increased.

Nonmedical benefits that are primarily health related can be offered to any MA beneficiary, while non-primarily health-related benefits such as pest control, meals and social needs benefits can only be offered to beneficiaries with chronic conditions.
