McLeod Health is constructing a new $56 million hospital at its Carolina Forest campus, designed to address the healthcare needs of the rapidly expanding population of Horry County, South Carolina.

The project will introduce a four-story, 48-bed facility aimed at enhancing access to medical services in the region. Scheduled to open in 2026, this will be the first hospital built in Horry County since 2011.

The new hospital seeks to alleviate the strain on local healthcare facilities which have seen a significant uptick in usage, with over 110,000 patient visits to McLeod’s Carolina Forest campus in the past year alone.
