In late August, a lawsuit was filed in Texas seeking to block the Biden-Harris Administration from enforcing provisions of a recent regulation setting new standards for short-term, limited duration health insurance (STLDI) policies and requiring expanded disclosures to consumers for STLDI and fixed indemnity insurance. The case has been assigned to Sean D. Jordan, a Trump appointee.

A previous article described a separate lawsuit filed by an insurance company and agent focused more narrowly on blocking new notice requirements for fixed indemnity policies. Briefing was recently completed in that case but no decision has been issued.
