Johns Hopkins School of Nursing is unveiling a new institute Nov. 1 aimed at shifting the perception of nurses from a “necessary cost” to a “valued asset,” the Baltimore-based university said.

The nursing school’s Institute for Policy Solutions, located in Washington, D.C., has two goals. First, it will make a policy pathway for Johns Hopkins’ nursing interventions, including prevention and care, diversity initiatives, new payment models and virtual nursing care.

Its second purpose is to centralize policy standards and media communications to one hub.
