DOC PAY IN FLUX — Addressing pay cuts to doctors is turning into a thorny task for Republicans, POLITICO’s Ben Leonard, Daniel Payne and Robert King report.

Rep. Greg Murphy (R-N.C.), co-chair of the GOP Doctors Caucus, reached an agreement with House Speaker Mike Johnson and Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) on Monday night to eliminate the 3 percent payment cut that took effect in January for doctors treating Medicare patients. The GOP leaders said they’d include a fix in the bill Republicans hope to pass to fulfill President Donald Trump’s campaign promises to extend tax cuts and boost border security.
