The horrific terrorist attack in Israel with massive loss of life, hostage-taking, and countless ongoing traumatic injuries illustrates how a robust modern healthcare system can still be so easily stressed by a mass terrorist attack.
We already have a strained medical infrastructure in the U.S. reflected by hospital closures, ambulance diversions, and cyberattacks.
But most notably, there are profound reductions and modifications in hospital services due to ongoing staffing shortages, largely pivotal nursing positions.
