The Joint Commission appoints a chief legal officer, and others take new posts.

Cara Camiolo, MD, has been named the chief quality and safety officer of Intermountain Health.

She was chosen after a wide national search, the system said. Most recently, she has served as the chief medical officer for Intermountain Health’s Desert Region, which includes southwestern Utah and southern Nevada.

“I am excited to step into this role and champion the important work of the Clinical Excellence team,” Camiolo said in a statement. “It is an honor to serve our patients in this new capacity, and I look forward to working with teams across the organization to advance Intermountain’s commitment to excellence in quality, safety and experience.”
