The program will work to identify health disparities and creating rural and community health plans to address them.

A new collaborative between the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) and the IU Center for Rural Engagement and IU School of Public Health – Bloomington will aim to address rural health disparities and come up with intervention plans in Decatur and Daviess Counties.

COVID-19 has shown a spotlight on numerous different health disparities, not least of which include rural health disparities. Rural health tends to see a dearth of medical providers and resources to address patient healthcare needs, including the community resources that can eventually impact patient health and wellness.
