Artificial intelligence applications may dominate health care discourse, but the low-tech initiatives of front-line hospital teams remain the most effective means of putting patient safety improvement into practice.

At the annual meeting of The Leapfrog Group, the patient safety nonprofit, the AI discussions mostly described potential. In contrast, the poster session projects of front-line staff focused on implementation.
