Humana’s value-based care efforts in Medicare Advantage saved around $8 billion in 2022 compared to traditional Medicare, according to the company’s annual value-based care report published Nov. 15.

Value-based care saved 23.2% in 2022 compared to traditional Medicare.

In 2022, around 70% of Humana’s Medicare Advantage members were in some form of value-based care relationship, the highest proportion since the company began publishing value-based care reports in 2013.

Positive results in savings and quality outcomes from value-based care in Medicare can translate to Medicaid programs as well, Humana said in its report....
