PBM reform, more price transparency, and Medicare for All among ideas floated at hearing

Members of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee varied widely in their suggestions Thursday for making healthcare more affordable, from cracking down on pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) to increasing healthcare price transparency, and instituting a single-payer Medicare for All system.

“We need substantive, bipartisan reforms to realign the healthcare system, to give the patient the power,” said HELP Committee Chair Sen.
