The patients’ lived experience should be an important element in deciding the value of prescription drugs, said speakers at the annual meeting of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.

Sarah K. Emond, MPP, president and CEO of the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER), said the quiet part out loud: providers and healthcare payers make trade-offs when deciding what drugs to cover and for what patients.
