The FBI issued a stark warning in December 2024: Cybercriminals are weaponizing generative artificial intelligence (AI) to craft sophisticated social engineering attacks. In other words, they’re exploiting human psychology to extract confidential information, manipulate actions such as clicking malicious links, and gain unauthorized access to IT systems.

These attacks—including phishing and business email compromise (BEC), are increasingly frequent, sophisticated, and targeted. Traditional security solutions are no longer sufficient, and organizations must rethink their strategies and invest in next-generation defenses to stay protected.
