Q. Will shifting demographic trends influence future new senior housing?

A: Shifting older adult demographic trends have been and will continue to influence future senior housing trends and innovations in service delivery systems. The age 65+ segment of the population has been experiencing the most significant growth seen in decades and, with the aging of the baby boomers, this trend will continue.

Boomers are turning 61 to 79 this year. Adults aged 65 to 74 currently are the largest cohort in the 65+ segment of the population, and adults aged 75 to 84 are the second largest segment and traditional target market for senior living.
