About 1.3 billion people, or 16 percent of the global population, are living with significant disabilities. By and large, these individuals experience more barriers to healthcare than the general population. Closing health outcome gaps between populations with and without disabilities calls, first and foremost, for good data collection and usage. However, says McKinsey’s Sunny Sun, there are sizable and persistent gaps in health data with respect to people with disabilities.
