EHR vendors have faced various challenges and opportunities over the years, and their performance in the marketplace has been influenced by regulatory changes, technology advancements and evolving healthcare needs, but one vendor continues to gain the hospital market share.

Epic

According to a May 23 KLAS Research report, Epic Systems had 35.9% of the hospital market share for 2022, with 83 hospitals joining its network, giving it 14,330 beds. In 2020, the EHR vendor had 31% of the market share.

The vendor continues to be the leader in market share, seeing an increase in percentage as an influx of hospitals and health systems choose to switch EHR vendors and replace them with Epic.
