Nearly half of healthcare executives polled in a 2019 Accenture study rank artificial intelligence (AI) as the technology that will have the highest impact on improving their organizations’ operations in the next three years.1 The use of AI for improved patient care diagnostics and precision medicine are widely discussed among clinicians and the public. Unfortunately, little is promoted on the use of AI technology in healthcare for nonclinical operations, including health information management (HIM).
