Hospitals are using AI, data analytics and machine learning to improve health outcomes, produce predictive clinical insights and improve patient care. Here are four artificial intelligence projects health systems have recently created and deployed as reported by Becker’s Hospital Review:

  1. Springfield, Ohio-based Mercy Health will use Viz.ai’s cloud-based AI system, which cross-references CT images of a patient’s brain with a database of scans to find early stages of large vessel occlusion strokes, to detect diseases and speed up care to treat stroke patients. The system alerts physicians of a suspected stroke, including those that are the most debilitating.
  2. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health Plan is using utilization management technology company Cohere Health’s machine learning and AI...
