In today’s column, I explore the hot new trend of allowing generative AI to take over your keyboard and mouse so that the AI can perform various tasks on your behalf. Many AI makers are rushing to provide this takeover feature. The belief is that people will relish having generative AI perform their chores such as filling out online forms, composing and sending emails for you, and otherwise acting as a kind of agentic AI doing your bidding.
