When the internet first started, websites were essentially full of static content. Very useful at the time, but not very dynamic. As internet technology evolved, websites were able to be much more interactive and were able to do things like user-generated content, dynamic content, and facilitate broad collaboration with other people. Not to mention, the internet became much easier to use and impactful on our lives. This shift in the internet was deemed Web 2.0.
