The exhibit will focus on coordinating care and transitions across defined populations, a HIMSS official said.

When HIMSS17 kicks off on Feb. 19, 2017 in Orlando the show floor will include the Population Care Management Knowledge Center.

The center has been revised from last year to add more focus on care management, care coordination, and the transitions of care across care sites to a defined population, according to Shelley Price, Payer and Life Sciences Director for HIMSS North America.

Population care management is essential to improving quality of care and health outcomes while controlling costs – particularly as more healthcare organizations move toward value-based payment models.
