HHS adds a maternal outcomes section on the CMS Care Compare website expanding access for quality maternal health services.

– HHS has announced efforts to increase equitable access for quality maternal health services by creating a maternal health outcomes section on the CMS Care Compare website.

The agency said the designation will help patients identify hospitals that provide pregnancy and postpartum care, participate in a maternity care quality improvement collaborative, and have implemented suggested patient safety practices.

This initiative allows for patients to identify “birthing-friendly” hospitals on the CMS Care Compare website.
