If you’ve been waiting for proof that senior living has truly emerged from the dark days of the pandemic, here it is.

New data from the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care show senior living occupancy has now risen for 17 consecutive quarters. That’s more than four years of steady growth. The sector hasn’t just recovered — it’s accelerating.

For the quarter ending Sept. 30, overall occupancy hit 88.7%, up slightly from 88% during the previous 13 weeks. Independent living crossed back over the 90% benchmark. Assisted living made its strongest gains in years. Active adult communities, while slightly down, remain above 92%.

In short: this isn’t just a rebound. It’s a boom.
