Detroit-based Henry Ford Health has created a new company called Populance to support hospitals, physicians and health plans in advancing population health efforts.

Four details:

  • The subsidiary will leverage Henry Ford’s expertise in managing patients with complex conditions to support other health systems, insurers and physicians in improving patient outcomes while lowering costs of care. The new company’s launch comes as more insurers move to value-based models, which base payments on quality and outcomes versus the services provided.
