Add hearing aids to the growing list of technology tools that still are not considered user-friendly enough for the senior market.

Hearing aids are costly and often are a visible, and unwanted, symbol of one’s age-related health issues. But it may be usability concerns that really cause so many older adults with hearing loss to eschew devices, according to a story last week in KFF Health News.

Many older adults could benefit from larger, more customized hearing aids, which are easier to manipulate, experts noted. Such recommendations are similar to what healthtech experts have suggested for crafting better smartphone devices for the senior market.
