Improving health equity and expanding patient education, particularly by making research findings public and understandable, are part of PCORI’s core mission going forward, the organization has announced.

These two missions, alongside PCORI’s other goals elucidated in this announcement, will be central to creating patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER).

PCORI also stated increasing the evidence for existing and emerging health solutions, enhancing the infrastructure needed for patient-centered outcomes research, and continuing the progress toward an integrated learning health system are its top goals.
