Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz both have a history of challenging major healthcare corporations, but health policy experts say it’s unclear how vigorously they’d continue these efforts at the national level if elected, The Washington Post reported Aug. 16.

The Democratic candidate has yet to share a formal plan on healthcare consolidation. In an Aug. 16 speech in Raleigh, N.C., Ms. Harris is slated to discuss her economic strategy, which includes efforts to cancel medical debt for millions and impose a cap on prescription drug costs.

While serving as California’s attorney general, Ms. Harris strongly opposed healthcare consolidation and prosecuted numerous industry players for alleged fraud or antitrust violations, according to The New York Times....
