The autism therapy industry’s many challenges will force the industry to reach greater heights of quality.

In addition to the structural challenges the segment faces — stagnant reimbursement rates, workforce challenges, and the like — autism therapy has to reckon with a small yet potent movement against its central offering: applied behavior analysis (ABA). The discourse prompted by the movement has increasingly made an über specific issue a mainstream topic.

Greater sensitivity to that movement and the perspective of those with autism and their families generally has increased in recent years. And Mark Shalvarjian, CEO of Gracent, predicts that will continue in the right direction in the future.
