House Republican leaders are considering allowing an amendment vote to extend ObamaCare enhanced subsidies, a move designed to appease moderate Republicans who have been warning about the electoral impacts of letting them expire at the end of the year.

In a closed-door meeting in the Capitol on Friday morning, GOP leaders huddled with various groups of Republicans to hash out their strategy on the enhanced tax credits under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which benefit more than 20 million people.

Leaving the meeting, party leaders said no final decisions have been made. But the conversation focused largely on the possibility of staging a vote on an extension of the ObamaCare subsidies as an amendment to the larger GOP health care...
