Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare is using Google’s AI-powered nurse-handoff note, which is gaining positive traction from its workforce, Bloomberg reported July 30.

The nurse handoff note allows providers to leverage artificial intelligence to improve workflows on time-consuming clerical tasks. The tool was developed by HCA using Google’s AI and is being tested at four HCA Healthcare hospitals in Tennessee and Florida.

HCA reported that in a recent internal survey, 89% of the nurses testing the technology found it to be “somewhat” or “very” helpful.

Additionally, HCA is using a platform that uses ambient clinical documentation from Augmedix and Google’s generative AI to draft EHR notes for ED visits.
