Every few seconds, someone’s private data gets stolen. In 2023, there were 2,365 cyberattacks, which amounted to a 72% increase in data breaches since 2021, the previous all-time record. Due to the particularly sensitive nature of the data they house, and its value on the black market, healthcare systems are a common target of hackers, with 725 data breaches reported in 2023.
