Health seniors have embraced digital technologies such as wearables and other digital health applications. Now unhealthy seniors, such as those dealing with frailty, need to start using them more.

Fewer frail seniors use smartphone healthcare apps or telehealth options compared to healthy, non-frail seniors, according to a new study which claims to be the first serious comparison of digital health technology usage via the frailty criteria.

Frailty is an umbrella term for a variety of physical issues including weakness, slowness and other forms of mobility decline. Symptoms can include weight loss and increased risk of age-related diseases, even death.
