A wide variety of impacts have come out of the COVID-19 pandemic

Five years ago today, on March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus—COVID-19—outbreak a global pandemic. An article published in Acta Biomedica by Domenico Cucinotta and Maurizio Vanelli on that date began thus: “The World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020, has declared the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak a global pandemic.
