A checklist of leadership skills for building trust through transparency, actions, and consistency that apply to health care mergers as well as day-to-day health care leadership.
Abstract
The President and Chief Executive Officer for Corewell Health outlines five skills she considers critical to managing a health care merger and illustrates these skills in action in her description of the Spectrum Health and Beaumont Health merger that resulted in what is known as Corewell Health today. The five skills she details include being clear about expectations and the operating model, overcommunicating and over-listening, making decisions and then moving on, being comfortable with tension, and moving fast.
