Healthcare organizations prioritizing expertise and cultural alignment when selecting IT planning and assessment consulting firms are finding the most success, according to a new market analysis from KLAS Research.

The report reveals that IT strategic planning and IT assessment engagements are the most common services healthcare organizations pursue, with 56% and 50% of validated engagements involving these services respectively. Vendor selection projects, representing 28% of engagements, and interim IT management roles at 16% round out the primary service types.

Organizations cite expertise as the leading factor driving their consulting firm selection. Cultural fit and alignment with organizational needs follows closely as the second most important consideration.
