Dr. Meena Seshamani directs the Center for Medicare (CM) within the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). A seasoned clinician with extensive health policy experience, Dr. Seshamani was appointed to the role by President Biden on July 6, 2021. Dr. Seshamani oversees Medicare, including each of Medicare’s annual payment rules, as well as Medicare Advantage (MA) and Part D. She is also directly responsible for implementing the Inflation Reduction Act’s drug pricing reforms, including the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation program.
