Even as online retailer Amazon considers entering the U.S. pharmacy business, traditional drugstore chains aren’t backing away from new brick and mortar stores, remodeling and health-related expansions.

Shares of Walgreens Boots Alliance, CVS Health, Rite Aid and Walmart have been negatively impacted in recent months thanks in part to the potential threat of Amazon should it get into the U.S. pharmacy business and shakeup the healthcare industry.

Some wonder if Amazon does enter in some way, it could upend the traditional brick-and-mortar pharmacy given its clout as an online retailer and its technological prowess when it comes to consumer orders and delivery of goods and services.
